The client’s brief was to carry out an extensive renovation of the existing property located in the heart of Bedfordshire Green Belt to both modernise the dated bungalow + additionally, rectify all existing damage/complications with the building’s structure. The aim was to fully enhance the external appearance of the property + to focus on the internal reconfiguration of spaces to rectify the current clustered + disjointed plan form. These design moves resulted in a one-storey front + rear extension to accommodate the proposed spatial requirements + maximise views out over the site’s picturesque context.
A material palette of natural tones, colours + textures was selected to provide a contemporary aesthetic that in parallel complemented the building’s rural setting. It was of the utmost importance that changes to the external appearance of the proposal worked harmoniously with the site’s leafy context whilst respecting all neighbouring properties + the conservation area + exemplifying high-quality design.

This project involved the full renovation of an existing 1990s detached home in the heart of Nicosia, Cyprus.
The existing property offered generous living space but required complete modernisation + re-planning to provide a contemporary home that also included a gym + guest house + office + swimming pool. An extensive demolition exercise of the internal ground floor + surrounding site was required to maximize + fulfill the plot’s potential + clients’ needs.





/ ASPLEY GUISE, BEDFORDSHIRE, UK

This family home located in the heart of Bedfordshire greenbelt underwent a top-to-toe architectural renovation, with a vision to create a bright, light-filled series of cohesive living spaces across the width of the property, both rear and front. The re-design included a double storey rear extension to give more living space to the kitchen and dining/ family room, with full-width glazing onto the wide patio and garden views beyond. The interior remodelling also allowed for an additional, more formal living room, cinema room, playroom, utility, prep kitchen/larder, x6 double bedrooms + ensuites throughout.
Lightness and brightness were key considerations in the design vision for this contemporary renovation. Creating a series of double height voids + an open stairwell allows light to stream into the heart of the house + additional large format doors + openings at the ground floor means light flows from front to back. While each room across the back of the property has its own identity + interior style, one can step out from any room on to the patio/garden + go back into the next, giving a feeling of spacious connections + contemporary living.
The expansive surrounding landscape was also re-worked to compliment the contemporary architecture
+ to encourage interplay with internal spaces. The leafy site consists of a large swimming pool, pool house, out buildings + a detached double garage/showroom.




/ ACROPOLIS, NICOSIA, CYPRUS
This residential apartment block in the heart of Acropolis, Nicosia has derived from a once abandoned site + structural frame which has been derelict + exposed to the elements for circa x15 years before redevelopment began. Although constrained by the original structural frame, we worked closely with the client + design team to distribute x7 contemporary apartments across x4 floors of living accommodation with a feature penthouse located at roof level.
The design proposal brings a new lease of life to the site + is composed of strong horizontal + vertical elements that create a dynamic façade + new skin to the existing skeleton frame. The shared entrance to the building provides an enhanced sense of arrival + all apartments have been carefully re-arranged to maximise natural daylight + contemporary open-plan living. Each apartment will boast deep balconies which provide much desired external living space together with the necessary privacy + solar shading. The project's feature green wall + extensive planting strategy + sustainable energy systems all aim to deliver an environmentally friendly development in the heart of the city.
